Coláiste Chilliain

The quota of 1st Year places for a given academic year will be decided in the previous academic year. Applications for enrolment received prior to December 31st in the year preceding entry will be considered. Priority will be given to applications for enrolment in the order set out below:

  • Brothers and sisters of pupils and past pupils subject to existing provisions of V.E.C. policy.
  • Pupils of local all-Irish primary schools i.e. Gaelscoil Chluain Dolcáin, Gaelscoil na Camóige.
  • Pupils of all-Irish schools other than those listed above who traditionally supply pupils to Coláiste Chilliain.
  • Other pupils who have completed an all-Irish primary school education.
  • Pupils who have previously attended an all-Irish school.
  • Pupils from local English medium primary schools subject to a satisfactory competence in the Irish language.

Application forms received following the closing date will be placed on a waiting list in the order in which they are received and will be considered only after all other applications have been dealt with. Every application will be dated on day of receipt and this date will be used to establish an order of priority within the policy set out above. A receipt will be issued in respect of each application form received. Proof of delivery of application forms to the school will be the responsibility of parents / guardians. Where a receipt of application is not received within one week, parent / guardian should contact Coláiste Chilliain immediately. Applications for enrolment other than in 1st Year will be considered by the Board of Management.
