The pursuit of pride in our cultural and linguistic heritage together withthe attainment
of a quality education were the two main ideals which shaped the thinking of those
responsible for the foundation of Coláiste Chilliain in 1981. The college has been a
proud model for many all-Irish schools throughout the country in the years since its
Students are challenged to reflect on their nobility as a people, on their loyalty to their Irish heritage and on their self respect to produce reliable, honest, responsible and educated young people who will confidently take their place in a pluralist society as Irish citizens.
The educational philosophy of Coláiste Chilliain succeeds and the past students who have spent six years with us are a testament to this. We can all, students, teachers and parents look forward to a bright but challenging future but one where we can say “Ár nDúchas Slán”.
This website will give you some idea of the work being carried out in Coláiste Chilliain as well as an indication of the wonderful atmosphere that can be experienced in the school.
The site is a window through which one “can” view the dedication of our staff, the feats of our students and the loyal input of our parents all under the direction of the Board of Management. One can observe a modern building with the latest teaching facilities, practical rooms fitted out with the best of equipment and the way that the school focuses on Information Technology as an effective way to communicate the broadest possible curriculum.
We are very grateful to our patrons Dublin and Dún Laoghaire Education and Training Board for their dedication, their direction, cooperation and continuous support.
I welcome you to our school.
Le Gach Dea-Ghuí,
Feargal Ó Giolláin
